Hertzian pylons

These pylons provide the diffusion of road traffic radio a relai for cellphone waves. 54 meters high, they allow a broad cover in the zone of the Vosges. In order to resist the frequent bad weather in this zone, the structure is made up of a lattice of ties which make it possible to distribute the static efforts at each node. The unit gives the illusion of veils connected the ones to the others by a central mast. External vertical ties are made of high tensile stainless steel, and preloaded in tension to increase the stiffness while keeping a slim shape to the frame.
