    Peace Tower

    Saint-Petersburg, Russia

    Commissariat au tricentenaire de St-Pétersbourg

    Architects: Wilmotte & Associated

  • Set up in the heart of St-Petersburg at the time of its tercentenary, the tower illuminates the street through its screen printed panels of glass. The word peace is written in around fifty different languages all over the monument. The 18 height meters building, at the same level as the top of the street, consists of a significant steel core. The support of the glazing consists of a network of cables of tension which connects the various swivel device on which curved glass is fixed. Stainless covers the steel mast, to accentuate contrasts with serigraphy.
