Dong Chang Harbour - Fortune Plaza

    Shanghai, China

Shanghai Keyi Real Estate Development Co

    Architect: Franck REPAS

  • The new districts of skyscraper of modern Shanghai, which have grown up quickly since the Nineties, are located on the East (Pu Dong, in Chinese) of the Huang Pu river, and opposite the historical city of Shanghai, on western bank (Pu Xi), the seven buildings of Plaza Fortune take a very particular place, by showing to the majestic river their glass frame and steel structure. Top-of-the-range offices complex, this unit adopts particular constructive principles: respectful of the environment and energy saving. The external envelope consists of a double skin, an entirely glazed frontage comes to cling on the wall of ceramics and glass, by the intermediary of a grid of beams out of stainless steel. Thus, each building has its own belt of insulation; on summer time the hot air is evacuated on top of the wall by simple pressure variation. The energy profit is about 20%.
